The open source data-analysis tool known as R is quickly becoming a leading programming language across the globe. Join IRSA for a short, 1.5-day course aimed at beginners who want to learn about its basic functions.
Day one will explore the basic features of R and best practices for reproducible data science using R Markdown. We will also explore the power of R for constructing visualizations, wrangling data, and producing simple numerical summaries. The modules on day two will provide a gentle introduction to statistical modeling including linear regression and logistic regression.

Testimonials from past participants:
"A great group of experts in many specific areas were brought together and all kind of questions were answered. I loved it. They were technically proficient. They took times to address a wide variety of concerns, technology, statistics, mathematics, analytics, data modeling. Each speaker knew how to connect to the audience and the training itself gave me many ideas on how to apply it to my daily work."
"This would be a great workshop for graduate students as it could set them on the road to good work habits from the beginning."
"I loved that we were able to start practicing using R immediately. I always learn best by doing - trying stuff and seeing if/how it works."
"It was great to just have the hands on experience and know that you didn't need any R experience at all. I also really liked the datasets we worked with. ... I feel like I have a good starting foundation now to begin using R for a project!"
